Welcome to the newly designed website dedicated to the service of the 26th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry: the Groundhog Regiment in the American Civil War. The website was created in 2002 and is regularly updated. The website, along with the regiment's history book, contains the most comprehensive information available about "The Old 26th."  

The website is intended as an overview about the regiment. For a more comprehensive understanding, read the regiment's history, The 26th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry: the Groundhog Regiment, Third Edition, 2020.
